Oral Dentists For New Dental Patients

Your Comfort Is Our Priority

What to Expect at Your First Oral Dentist Appointment?

Your first visit starts with a comprehensive exam. The oral dentist will review your dental and medical history, take any necessary X-rays, and perform a full assessment of your teeth, gums, and bite. This initial evaluation helps the team identify existing concerns and establish a baseline for future care.
After the exam, the dentist will walk you through the findings and discuss any recommended treatments. If a cleaning is needed, it may be completed during the same visit or scheduled as a follow-up depending on the time required.

What to Bring When Visiting Your Oral Dentist?

Please arrive a few minutes early with a valid photo ID, your Alberta Health Care card, and your dental insurance information if applicable. If you have recent X-rays from a previous provider, bring those as well or have the previous office forward them ahead of time.
Apple Wellness Dental offers direct billing to most insurance providers and follows the Alberta Fee Guide. Payment plans are available for patients who need flexibility. The practice also accepts patients who qualify under the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP).

If you have questions about coverage, the administrative team can help clarify your options before treatment begins. To book your first appointment as a new patient with an oral dentist, call (587) 332-6767.

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)

The Canadian Dental Care Plan is a federal government program that helps eligible Canadian residents cover a portion of their dental care costs. The program is designed to reduce financial barriers so more people can access the treatment they need.

Apple Wellness Dental accepts patients enrolled in the CDCP. If you are 100% covered under the plan, we do not collect any remaining balance from you. For patients with partial CDCP coverage, the plan will cover its portion and we can work with you on the rest through our payment plan options.

To qualify for the CDCP, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • No existing dental insurance coverage
    • Adjusted family net income below $90,000
    • Canadian resident for tax purposes
    • Filed a tax return for the previous year

The CDCP is one of several payment options we support. We also offer direct billing to most private insurance providers and follow the Alberta Fee Guide. Whether you are covered through the CDCP, private insurance, or paying out of pocket, our administrative team can walk you through your options before treatment begins.

If you have questions about your eligibility or want to understand what the CDCP covers for your situation, call us at (587) 332-6767.
