Formerly Village Square Dental, we rebranded in 2004 and moved into our current location, part of a multidisciplinary healthcare facility that also houses medical, pharmacy, chiropractic, maternity and podiatry services run by independent providers.

The Dentists of Apple Wellness Dental
Our team includes two general dentists, registered dental hygienists and registered dental assistants, all working from one location at 229 1st Street SW. We follow the Alberta Fee Guide and accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP).
Dr. Hammad Qasim
General Dentist at Apple Wellness Dental
Dr. Qasim was raised in Saskatoon, SK, where he attended dental school at the University of Saskatchewan. He graduated in 2020 and moved to Alberta in 2022. He works at Apple Wellness Dental full-time, offers a wide variety of general dental services and takes continuing education courses every year.
In his free time he spends time with family, plays sports, hikes and lifts weights at the local gym. Say hi if you see him around!
Dr. Sanjay Rajpal
General Dentist at Apple Wellness Dental
Dr. Rajpal was raised in Castor, Alberta and attended dental school at the University of Western Ontario in London. After graduation he opened Apple Wellness Dental (previously Village Square Dental) in 1993, and he still serves the Airdrie community 30 years later. He offers a wide range of general dental services, with a special interest in endodontics.
Outside the clinic he goes camping, gardens, walks his two Irish Setters, Fred and Barney, and plays golf at courses in the Calgary area.

Coverage
The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)
The Canadian Dental Care Plan is a federal government program that helps eligible Canadian residents cover a portion of their dental care costs. It is designed to reduce financial barriers so more people can access the treatment they need.
Apple Wellness Dental accepts patients enrolled in the CDCP. If you are 100% covered under the plan, we do not collect any remaining balance from you. For patients with partial CDCP coverage, the plan covers its portion and we can work with you on the rest through our payment plan options.
Who Qualifies for the CDCP
To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- No Existing Dental Insurance Coverage
- Adjusted family net income below $90,000
- Canadian Resident for Tax Purposes
- Filed a tax return for the previous year
The CDCP is one of several payment options we support. We also offer direct billing to most private insurance providers and follow the Alberta Fee Guide. Whether you are covered through the CDCP, private insurance or paying out of pocket, our administrative team can walk you through your options before treatment begins.
